Survived My 1st Week @ Linaco

Quite an adventurous week, since I have been early to work, I took that extra time to explore other roads. You have to try to see if the roads will lead you there. So I went to areas which I have not been before. Finally found the one route - Shapadu Highway which is the best and fastest after I exit the Klang toll. Now it is 30 minutes travelling time in the morning. Toll still stay at RM5 one way. On Thursday, I overslept, woke up at 6.30pm. Left my house at 7.43am but managed to reach office at 8.15am.
On Wednesday, went for my first food tasting. We are supposed to try two types of coconut milk, give our comments, then eat the agar-agar then the curry chicken. It is fun, yet confusing, because you may not be able to tell the difference. Majority of us felt that the competitor's coconut milk taste better than ours.
On Thursday, I had a factory tour. And I found out the strong smell is "Tong Kuai". The smell will be at its strongest when it is in the oven. Very interesting to know what goes on behind when consumer buys the products. The herbs are all from China. Pepper from Sarawak. We also pack the fried chicken seasoning powder for KFC. I am looking forward to visit the factory in Batu Pahat. Ayam Brand uses our coconut milk, and we do the packaging for them. There is an agreement that we will not sell our coconut milk (small carton) in Malaysia. We only sell the big carton. Surprisingly, we do not have enough coconuts. We import from Indonesia, forgot how many millions a month. WOW!
I am having a PC culture shock! The pc I am using is old, Windows 98 and is so slow. I was using Excel today, when I click format cells and after I choose what I want to do, I have to wait 5 minutes. Print Preview - also 5 minutes.
Share with you one drink - try nescafe or milo with coconut milk.

1st Day at Linaco

38 km one way, 40 minutes one way and RM10 per day, that's what I will go through from now on to travel to Linaco which is in Klang. Today marks a significant day for me as well as Linaco. For me, it is a career progression to HR Manager and for Linaco, the start of a new department (HR) and a new position. Many thanks for those who sent emails and sms to wish me well. And for those who knew my ex boss ( you know who), I told them my room is bigger than hers. Great parking space, so far friendly colleagues and peers. Other shortcomings, I can adjust, but the pungeon scent from the factory downstairs, bak kut teh spices, being the strongest, make my eyes watery and my nose sniffling. Hope this goes by as time goes.
