Goodbye Sandee

Sandee's condition has got worst since the last time I blogged. She can't get up on her own. She was so much in pain. I had to lift her up, then only she could stand. Last 2 weeks she could at least walk a bit after I lift her, she could go to the garden to urinate and walk back on her own. I obtained some tips from the Yahoo group that it will be a better support if I were to use a towel underneath her belly to lift her up. Yes, it did help. She howls or maybe yell a lot. She can't talk and neither could we understand her. As long as someone is near her, she is ok. And this past week, she got worst. She can't stand up for long. After I lifted her, she would fall down. She could only take one or 2 steps. She moved from one spot to the other by dragging. Something like mopping the floor. She can't urinate at the garden and thus wet her tail and lower belly. So pitiful.
Yesterday and this morning, she gave me her hand and scratched my hand, as if we humans holding another person when in pain. So I decided to take her to Dr Yeoh and told him the situation. Dr Yeoh agreed that I should put her to sleep. It is sad, but it is so sad to see her suffer like that. So, after signing the consent papers, 12.10pm, Sandee was put to sleep. According to Dr Ben, it is painless. It was so fast. After half the injection, Sandee was all numb. Then after the other half, she left us. I forgot to close her eyes. :-( There goes my 8 years of friendship - just memories....all pleasant ones.
